While most municipalities in Ontario do not require a permit for hot tubs prior to installation provided they are installed with a "lockable" cover, some may, it is always advisable to check. With respect to swimming pools, all Municipalities will have permit approval requirements with subtle differences between them depending on the jurisdiction. In all instances an "Enclosure Permit" will be required prior to filling the pool with water.

Yes, with some qualifications. We are often asked this question. We always encourage Clients to complete any required structural and  underground work (electrical, gas, telecommunications cable) to be completed in the initial phase to avoid having to bring heavy equipment back into the property. Wood structures, such as decks, pool cabanas or storage sheds can easily be constructed after the initial phase. As some homeowners prefer to install their own plant materials, we simply ensure that planting beds are excavated and proper growing medium is installed in Phase 1.
